Dwellings

Photography
2021

In neoliberal urban planning, where profit is essential, balconies are just an inefficient redundancy. We left the parks and gardens long ago and now leaving the balconies. We pull our line of defense back in our dwellings.

While urban architecture is gradually shaping our lives, our spaces are narrowing, how far?

And what gets expanded with space which was once ours?

This work was produced for the 39th Akbank Contemporary Artists Prize Exhibition, under the curatorial theme “Balcony.”
