Şafak Kocaoğlu (1985, Istanbul) works with photography, sculpture and installation, looking at how cultural, economic and social structures shape our experiences and perceptions.

She is interested in how we relate to one another and how the body can be understood as open, changing and connected to the world.

In her work, she seeks to create sensory experiences and spaces for reflection on embodiment, connection and forms of communication.

Şafak Kocaoğlu studied Business Administration at Koç University and later pursued Painting at Marmara University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. She lives and works in Istanbul.
